J WOWW's attempt at upscale knockoff

So I missed the MTV New Years Eve Bash where Jersey Shore's Jenni Farley aka J Woww rocked the New Year in with a racy little number but I definitely saw plenty of pictures all over the web of her fashion fopa...

It all made sense when I got my late issue of Elle magazine. Due to my change of address I didn't get the January issue until yesterday, but as soon as I opened it I had an "AH HA" moment. I said "this is what she was trying to do"

Poor thing, she tried but she really missed the mark. I will give her an E for effort, I'm just mad because I think she should have the money to do the look so much better. She did have one good moment when she showed up at a GNC to promote Ab Cuts....

She must have hired a makeup artist for this appearance too. Well I say all this to say every look we see in a magazine is not meant to be worn in real life but more importantly we should consult our friends before we leave the house.

Eating Right!

Besides the fact that I have made it my mission this year to take better care of myself, New York definitely promotes a healthier lifestyle. The markets have such amazing fresh vegetables. A lot of them even come pre-cut. It does cost a little more but, I'm what they call a convenience girl so in my world 9 time out of 10 that beats out cost. Here is an amazing dish I made with yellow squash, zucchini, red peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, green peppers, yellow peppers, green beans, mushrooms and onions! I stir fried them in a little olive oil and served them with black beans. It was amazing, made me feel good for even eating it and I was proud that I made it :).

In True Hollywood Style....

As I mentioned before the theme for the People's Choice Awards was Hollywood Chic so I was a little surprised to see very little red. I don't remember seeing one red dress at all. But there were a few that didn't disappoint...

There were a couple red lips

And even a couple hot pink

Just a splash of color compared to all the lovely ladies before.

The "Hollywood Chic" Look at the 2011 People's Choice Awards

I loved that last nights People's Choice Awards had the theme of "Hollywood Chic" and they walked in on the "Sapphire carpet" instead of red. This theme in turn gave a theme to the looks of the evening.............Nude Lips Everywhere!!! Nude pimk and Nude beige!!

The Best Yet Market has Linquica!!!!

I am so excited to have Linquica! I unfortunately don't have much connection with the cape verdean (Portuguese and African) side of my family but the one thing I do remember is being raised on this wonderful sausage. Mom made jag when ever she could. I'm so glad I have found a place close by that sells it. Gotta love New York! I'm gonna make jag tonight! :)
