Happy 4th of July ....Make Up For Ever Style

I happily worked this Independence Day at the Make Up For Ever Boutique at Sephora SoHo, it's always so much fun. Such an interesting dynamic of customers and a group of super talented and creative artist.

Here is how we showed our patriotism...

Patriotic to my fingertips :)

My face was painted by an amazing French man (I forgot his name) but eyes and lips were done by me.

Val is the amazing Lead Resident Artist for the Make Up For Ever Boutique at Sephora SoHo and here he is working is artistic magic on Derek a regular freelancer at the store.

A close up of Val's work.

Derek created this master piece including the New York City skyline and even the Statue of Liberty. This picture does no justice.

The lovely Frenchman did Jennifer's makeup too!

I'm always so inspired when I leave there. I really need to step up my avante garde and creative makeup skills. I will definitely be posting some of my creations.

Did you do anything fun and creative to show your holiday spirit?

Make Up For Ever Pro Social

What an awesome event!! It was hard work keeping track of product, who wanted what and squeezing through people to get to stuff but as always it was a great group of people. I enjoyed seeing familiar faces and making new friends.

Here are a few pics from the event...

Cocktails and Couture

Again I am a little behind with putting this info out but it was a great event that I had to share with you. I was so excited I had the pleasure of attending an amazing networking event given by the wonderful Lianne Farbes to kick off Fashion week. There were lots of great sponsors like Smartwater, HTC, Mario Badescu, Paint and Powder Pro Team just to name a few. You can check out more deets on the event at Cocktails and Couture.net. There was a manicure station, makeup stations and a wonderful bar sponsored by Hpnotiq Liqueur.

Here are a few pics:

The place was packed!!

Everyone having a great time!

New City, New Season, New Hair Cut!!

So most of you have already seen it by now but I still feel like it was only yesterday that I whacked off my curl-fro...lol. I had been talking about doing it for quite a while but it was completely an impulse decision to finally do it a few days before fashion week. I didn't want to see another picture of me with no makeup and my hair pulled back in a pony tail. My sister would always ask me why I was at these great events and looked all crazy...lol. I didn't even have a good answer except that I was working and that's not even a good enough excuse, especially now, living here in New York! Everyone is fabulous all the time and everyone that's in fashion is ridiculously stylish and trendy.

Before.....a hot mess!! I tried to smile but I looked so crazy I didn't even want to take the picture....lol

I gotta figure out how to take decent pictures of myself...lol, especially with out crap in the background.....lol.

Not sure what was going on here, bad light but I thought the pic was cool anyway.

I think I will get the back cut a little closer since my hair is naturally curly it don't really want to lay flat.

I do like the angle of the cut :)

And even curly I still look pretty hip. It was still a little wet in this picture.

And this is so easy to do, I just have to be careful because it was windy one day and I swear it blew my hair into this big curly Afro...lol
.
So I think I look a little more like a makeup artist that lives in New York. I think next I might do a little color....like blue :)

What do you think???

Celeb's on the Runway at Heart Truth's Red Dress Show

I thought for sure I was going to miss everything because I was in the wrong place and it was getting close to show time. Luckily @OhMyTy was on the phone to keep me calm and guide me in the right direction. Can't thank her enough! Not only did I make it their early, I had time to check my coat, take some pictures have a glass of wine and still be the first in line for the "priority standing" section. This is a marvelous accomplishment considering 15minutes later there was a mob of people behind me.

The Show was awesome!! All the ladies thoroughly enjoyed themselves all the way down the runway which made everyone in the audience feel the same. Lots of surprise faces on the runway atleast for me anyway.
Unfortunately my phone died as soon as I got their so ended up taking pictures with my regular camera and who knows where the cord is to download them right now...lol.

Here are all the gorgeous ladies that graced the runway:

Singer/Dancer Julianne Hough in Swarovski

Actress Eva Amurri in Chris Benz

Actress Linda Gray in Pamella Roland

Actress Alison Sweeney in Tadshi Shoji

Actress Archie Panjabi in J. Mendel

Actress Audrina Partridge in Badgley Mischka

Rapper/Actress Eve in David Meister

Actress Taraji P. Henson in Naeem Khan

Boxer Laila Ali in A Pea In The Pod

Actress Suzanne Somers in Soltani

Singer Natasha Bedingfield in Nicole Miller (who also sang her recent single "Strip Me")

Everyone after their final walk.

And we can't forget Emmy Award winning Journalist Ann Curry in Carmen Marc Valvo

Some of the dresses worn by celebrities in the show will be available to bid on at http://www.clothesoffourback.org/
