Fall/Winter 2011 New York Fashion Week: Boy Meets Girl Runway

So thanks to wireimage I actually get to see all the stuff the I missed when I was back stage.

Natasha Bedingfield opend for the show

Her guitarist was extremely talented and very hansome and charming.

What a really great show!!! What do you think??

Fall/Winter 2011 New York Fashion Week: Boy Meets Girl Backstage

My first show at the Metropolitan Pavillion this year and the opening show for Style 360 was Boy Meets Girl.

I just read this great post from one of my favorite blog sites stylelist.com and it talked about the online casting done by Boy Meets Girl. This is a video of one of the models:

"For this latest runway casting call, models will need to upload a video of their catwalk skills, along with photos, measurements, and a short blurb about themselves and their modeling experience."

Check out stylist.com for more on this hot new casting trend.

The Makeup For Ever Team Lead by James Vincent was ready to make magic happen. Here are some behind the seen shots:

Lead Makeup Artist James Vincent prepping his model for demo.

He's explains as he goes.

Loves for us to not only see where he is going but feel it too.

They did a run through in the middle of the demo. So while we waited...

James joked around a bit...ha ha ha

and I got to catch with Kat Aragon, who it felt like I hadnt seen in years :)

Now for her finished makeup look and off to hair (I thought it was done til I saw her later...lol)

Amazing bone structure, no wonder she was cast from her online video.

My model before, I think if I remember right she was 15.

I told her she could smile in the "before" shot....lol. Its not like those ads where they are sad before and then happy after...lol

Here is Wendy examining her work, she is a perfectionist, which is why she is so great at what she does.

I think she was caught off guard. So many camera's back stage.

very subtle smoky with browns and taupes.

Finished models waiting for the show to begin.

So the fun part is over and now its time for the show....next post :)

I got my picture taken backstage at the Suzanne Rae Show

I thought it was cool that a fellow bloggerista "Krasey Beauty" posted this great image of me hard at work :)
I so love what I do but I really need to work on my concentration face. I need to be more camera ready...lol!

Check out the whole post at the link below:

Thanks Krasey Beauty for my 15 seconds of fame...lol. Oh and thanks to Stephanie Flor for sending it to me :)

Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion Week: Suzanna Rae

As a Make Up For Ever Alliance Team member, I had the pleasure of working with an incredible team of artist lead by the amazing James Vincent for New York Fashion Week. My first show was the Suzanne Rae Collection.

Here are some pics...(not sure why half of the image is cut off at the bottom but it has to do with my phone and picasa...sorry, I'll figure it out. I'm still new at this stuff)

In my shirt ready to work!!!

Still couldn't really believe I was here!

Im set and ready to go....oh wait that's James' station...lol. One can only wish :)

James' gaves us a demo on this gorgeous model.

Very thourough but still allows us to express our own creativity.

Here's my set up....not too bad. I'm getting there.

I felt so lucky to have such a cute model.

She could take a bad picture if she wanted to.

After instruction we all started working hard.

Orlando Santiago was in his element.

Angelique Velez was working it out!

Stephanie Flor got to work with my girl Zaya from DC! Im so proud of her :)

The hair was really cute too. I had just seen this in a magazine and was so excited to see this technique in person.

Complete Look!!!

My girls complete makeup application, now off to hair....Next!!

I got to snap a few pics during the run thru.

I loved the look!

We even had time for a few of our own photos :) Ahbi Nishman and I happy to see each other and work together again.

I still havent mastered the art of the self portrait but Angelique didnt mind.

As I was leaving the show I got a copy of the program. I was so excited for James. He designed an amazing look that went perfect with the collection.

I love Fashion Week!!!
